JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for a full-time position of Head Women’s Rowing Coach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will be responsible for all aspects of a Division I Women’s Rowing program including coordinating recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes; development of the student-athlete; meet preparation; supporting the academic staff to ensure academic success of team members; assist with marketing and community involvement; budget management; compliance; fundraising; and other administrative duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or his designee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five years of collegiate and/or elite rowing coaching experience in a full-time position.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a successful program within NCAA and conference regulations.
  • Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes.
  • Experience teaching and communicating effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in recruiting, talent identification and talent development of qualified student-athletes.
  • Strong commitment to the academic goals of the University.
  • Organizational, communication, relationship-building, and public relations skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three or more years of Division I collegiate coaching experience as a head coach (within the past five years), including demonstrated experience in the recruiting process of qualified student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of the policies, rules and regulations of the NCAA.
  • Possesses coaching and student-athlete development philosophies consistent with that of the Division of Athletics.
