Overview

The Paralegal provides comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys by assisting with case preparation, legal research, and document management. This role is responsible for drafting and filing legal documents, maintaining case files and deadlines, and supporting trial preparation efforts. The Paralegal plays a critical role in ensuring cases are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with legal and ethical standards, while serving as a key point of contact for clients, court personnel, and internal stakeholders.

  • Conduct legal research and compile relevant information for cases.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, subpoenas, and briefs.
  • Review and summarize case files, depositions, and evidence.
  • File documents with courts and manage case calendars and deadlines.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and prepare summaries of interviews.
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witnesses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Communicate with clients, court staff, and other professionals regarding case status and updates.
  • Organize and manage physical and electronic legal files.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, and correspondence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field.
  • Paralegal certification (preferred but not always required).
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, legal databases).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
