The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction and utility environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting both craft and non-craft employees.

- - This position is based out of our Berlin, CT office and requires an in-office presence five (5) days per week. While primarily office-based, occasional travel between local operating locations may be required to support business needs, employee onboarding, hiring events, meetings, and other HR initiatives. - -

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate candidate movement through the hiring process, including interviews, offers, background checks, drug screenings, onboarding, and orientation activities
  • Assist with recruiting efforts by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, coordinating hiring events, and supporting workforce planning initiatives
  • Support onboarding and orientation efforts to ensure a positive and engaging new hire experience
  • Maintain employee records and personnel documentation while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, onboarding, and general employment inquiries
  • Provide administrative support for employee relations activities, including scheduling meetings, maintaining documentation, and assisting with investigations and corrective action processes
  • Assist with HR communications related to policy updates, training assignments, compliance requirements, and employee programs
  • Support compliance initiatives, audits, reporting requirements, and HR data management to ensure adherence to company policies and applicable employment laws
  • Collaborate closely with HR Generalists, managers, supervisors, and field leadership to support workforce needs

What You'll Have
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered
  • Two (2) or more years of Human Resources, Recruiting, Administrative, Employee Relations, or related experience preferred
  • Experience supporting construction, utility, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, or other field-based workforces is strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
